Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends

At the time when cancer was still considered to be a curse, an incurable and frightening disease among the Cypriot population, the Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends emerged to disperse the taboo and fear surrounding cancer. The Movement against Breast Cancer made a dynamic start in achieving its objectives by creating awareness and promoting its purpose and targets to the Government itself, and the House of Representatives. With petitions to the President of Cyprus and the President of the House of Representatives, the Movement has made it clear that the Screening Programme is a must. Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns and lectures are organised regularly in every part of free Cyprus so that every woman and man understands and practices prevention and early detection against breast cancer.
